Tens Suggestions for Removing Ink Stain Did you get ink stain on your clothes from your inkjet cartridge or ink refill? If so, there are several things you can try to remove the ink stain from your clothes. If you got the ink stain from an inkjet cartridge, be sure to correct the problem or replace it to avoid future problems. Read your clothes label tag. If it is a dry clean only piece of clothing, consult with your dry cleaner to remove the ink stain. Do not attempt to do it yourself. Only attempt to remove the ink stain from clothes that you can wash or hand wash. Please remember to always test an inconspicuous area before treating the exposed area. You don’t want to bleach out the color of the cloth. Sometimes certain stains are permanent. Two cautions: 1) Do not put the clothing into a dryer until you are positive you have removed all the ink stain or your stain will become permanent. 2) Do not touch the ink stain to another part of your clothing when trying these suggestions. Here are a few suggestions from people who have successfully removed ink stain from their clothing. Try one of the following: 1. Spot remover 2. Cleaning fluid 3. Finger nail polish remover 4. Use a petroleum-based pre wash, like spray and wash. 5. Use large amounts of rubbing alcohol for denim material. 6. Place an absorbent paper towel or rag under the stain. Saturate the ink stain with an alcohol-based hair spray. Blot the stain with the towel or rag. Repeat until the stain is removed. 7. For colored fabrics, soak material in milk overnight. 8. On white fabric use a combination of lemon juice and salt. Paste this on the fabric and then let it dry in the sun. 9. Fresh ink will often come off by dabbing rubbing alcohol directly on the stain and then rinsing the fabric in cold water. 10. Soak the item in warm water with a tablespoon of Tide (per quart of water) for 24 hours. Then launder as usual, adding bleach if the fabric is bleachable. If the spot is larger than a dime, first soak it in wood (methyl) alcohol for l5-30 minutes (except for rayon, acetate or Celanese; dry clean these), and then launder.
