How to Remove Ink Stain
 

If you refill your inkjet cartridge, one of the most often commonly asked questions is “How to Remove Ink Stain”. Any time you do a lot of work around something that contains ink, you have a chance to put an ink stain on your clothes. When working with ink, it’s always a good idea to wear old clothing. Wear something you don’t care about if it gets ink stain on it. However, that is not always possible.

The most important thing you can do is to act as quickly as possible. The sooner, the better so that the ink stain doesn’t have a chance to set.

It’s always a good idea to start with cold water and a cloth or towel. Blot the ink stain as much as possible to help lift the stain. Remember to blot the ink stain… don’t rub it. Rubbing it only increases the chance of spreading the ink stain. Rubbing will also weaken the fiber and cause wear and tear.

If you can’t remove the ink stain by blotting with water, there are other options you can try. Keep one point in mind. Never apply heat on an ink stain. It will only make it harder or impossible to get out. Sometimes it’s a matter of trial and error to remove an ink stain. Here are a few helpful suggestions.

Put rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball, paper towel or q-tip. Then, dab it on the ink stain.

Try soaking the ink stained clothing in milk overnight and then wash it like you normally do. 

Mix lemon juice and salt together into a paste-like jell. Apply this paste to the ink stained area. Then, let the clothing dry in the sun.

If you have hairspray with you, pour it directly onto the ink stain and dab it with a paper towel. You might use a cotton swab, bar of soap or toothbrush to gently scrub the area. Don’t rub hard. It will only make the stain worse. Some people use nail polish instead of hair spray to do the same thing. If the stain doesn’t come totally out, pour milk onto the stained area.

Anytime you work with an inkjet cartridge, the possibility of ink stain is real. One of the above suggestions should help get out most ink stains.
