He
Saved 50% On a Discount Inkjet Cartridge... But What About the Print???
If you're like most people I know, you may be very skeptical about using Discount Inkjet Cartridges. I know. I
felt exactly the same way. I had a great inkjet printer. I got quality black and color printing. I knew exactly how
many pages I'd be able to print... for black and white, as well as color printing. Then, one day someone mentioned
to me that I sure was spending a lot of money on printing. I thought to myself you're crazy... and I totally
ignored the comment. Then, my business started to really take off and I was spending hundreds of dollars every
couple of months on printing marketing letters, manuals, invoices, etc. At some point, after having spent thousands
on my printing, it hit me. It wouldn't cost much to just test out one of those Discount inkjet cartridges.
I finally decided to put it to the test. I'd purchase a discount ink cartridge and track very carefully exactly
what it'd cost me. But that wasn't all. I wanted to compare the quality of print and the number of pages I could
print. I decided the best way to analyze my printing cost was to do a cost per page analysis... so I did.
I did some extensive research online. I discovered that you could order almost every make and model of discount
ink cartridges. But that wasn't all. I could order brand name printer cartridges at very small discounts. I could
order compatible or remanufactured printer cartridges at huge discounts. I could refill my own ink cartridges and
almost eliminate over 85% of my printer budget.
In fact, the savings were so large, I thought "If it sounds too good to be true, it must be a gimmick". There's
no way to buy a cheap inkjet cartridge and get any quality or quantity of printing at all.
I almost backed out of my search, but then decided it couldn't hurt to test just one cartridge. I did a little
more research to learn as much as I could about the various types of discount printer cartridges I could purchase.
Here is what I learned about printer cartridges.
First, I could refill my ink cartridges with ink myself. I'd have to get a printer ink refill kit and some
bottles of quality ink. I reviewed the step by step instructions and decided that I would pass on this option,
although many people were saving over 80% of their printing budget using this option. I simply had too much
printing to do and didn't want to refill ink cartridges every day.
Next, I learned about remanufactured inkjet cartridges. Sometimes these were referred to as refurbished ink
cartridges or recycled cartridges. These are original brand name printer cartridges that have been emptied and
returned to the printer factory. The company recharges the cartridge and thoroughly cleans the print head nozzles.
The cartridge is refilled with ink and the internal atmospheric pressure is checked to make sure it is right. Then
comes the comprehensive quality control check. The cartridge is inspected for leaks. The electrical circuitry is
tested for proper operation. Once this is completed, an actual print test is done. If the cartridge successfully
passes all the quality control tests, it has been remanufactured.
I also learned that many major printer companies actually sell remanufactured printer cartridges. If you look on
the cartridge package label and it says "manufactured from new and recycled parts", it's a remanufactured
cartridge. However, if the brand name is on the label, it's not a discount inkjet cartridge... you're paying full
price.
Finally, I learned about compatible discount ink cartridges. These are brand new cartridges
manufactured to the same standards as the original OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) printer inkjet cartridge.
They are guaranteed to be compatible with your printer. The real advantage is that the cost of these printer
cartridges are significantly less than the brand name cartridge.
So, there I had my choices. I finally purchased a compatible
printer cartridge and tried it out. The cost of the cartridge was less than half of what I had been paying for
my brand name cartridges. I didn't know what to expect, but was anxious to try it out. When it finally arrived, I
plugged it in and turned on the printer. I printed my first page and was pleasantly surprised. It looked as good as
any page I'd ever printed with the brand name cartridge. I still thought there might be a catch. To my surprise, I
printed page after page. Every page exceeded my expectation. I got excellent print quality.
My final thought was that the cartridge probably wouldn't print as many pages as my original cartridges had
printed. I kept printing and printing. To my amazement, I was able to print more pages with the compatible
cartridge than I had with my original cartridge. I thought something had to be wrong... so I did some additional
research.
I found out that some brand name ink cartridges are not filled to full capacity. I then read a study where some
cartridges were filled to approximately 50% capacity. No wonder I could print more pages. When the same size
cartridge is filled to capacity, the number of pages is bound to increase assuming you printing the same amount on
a page, which I was.
Now, I must also make it clear that the brand name companies do specify how many pages of print you will get
from their cartridges and they are very accurate on that estimate. However, no one states the capacity to which a
printer cartridge is filled.
Long story short... I was thrilled with the quality, quantity and performance I got. Since that time I have
purchased inkjet cartridge refill kits for my printer ink refills. I've also tried remanufactured printer
cartridges. I got great results with every option. What I learned from my experience was that the cost per page I
got from these generic replacement cartridges was almost 70% less than the cost per page I was getting with the
original brand cartridges.
I would strongly recommend that you test it out for yourself. Discount inkjet cartridges can be ordered online
for almost every make and model of printer. Good companies carry a large selection of compatible and factory
remanufactured print cartridges as well as a large selection of printing supplies. By purchasing from a reputable
online company, you can cut your printer budget significantly. You'll get good quality printing, print as many or
more pages and pay much less. Although these compatible brands are cheap in price, they are not cheap in
quality.
So, if you are really serious about big saving on your next inkjet cartridge, be sure to check out some
reputable online companies that offer high quality compatible printer ink cartridges. You can expect the best
products, offers, quality printing supplies, warranties, shipping and customer service in the printer supply
industry. I got a great deal years ago and it has saved me thousands of dollars. I love compatible discount inkjet
cartridges. I think you will too.
