Printers For Every Need

When it comes to selecting a printer, you’ve never had a greater choice. You can choose from a wide variety of Laser printers and Inkjet printers. Both types of printers have their advantages.

Inkjet Printers

The inkjet printer is very popular today. They were first introduced in the 1980’s. They are commonly called “Inkjets”. The inkjet puts very tiny droplets of ink onto a piece of paper to create an image. These tiny drops of ink are smaller than the diameter of a hair. They are measured in microns and are placed closely together in what is referred to as dots per inch (dpi).

The inkjet printer usually has one or more printer cartridges. These cartridges are a combination of black and colored ink. The inkjet printer combines these colors in various combinations to produce high quality photos and images.

The advantage of inkjet printers is that they are usually less expensive to buy and they can produce a very high quality reproduction of your photos and images. Printer prices begin at under $50.

The disadvantage is that the cost to replace the OEM printer ink cartridges can be fairly expensive. To reduce your on-going printer ink cost, you can purchase high quality discount ink cartridges for your inkjet printer. These printer cartridges are guaranteed to be as good as your original cartridge, but can save you 50% or more on your printer bill.

Laser Printers

The Laser printer is used extensively in business. “Lasers” have been used for years to print black and white text. Color laser printing is now becoming more common. Laser printers use toner rather than ink. In very basic terms, a Laser printer uses a static electricity charge to draw toner particles together on a drum. As the drum rotates, a laser beam shines across the surface of the drum creating letters and images.

The advantage of the Laser printer is that you can print thousands of pages per cartridge. Therefore, the cost per page is much less than an inkjet cartridge. Laser printing is also much faster than inkjet printing. Lasers can print on a wide variety of paper.

There are two drawbacks to a laser printer. First, the initial cost of the laser printer is much higher. Second, the cost of individual toner cartridges is also much higher than an inkjet cartridge. However, if you do a lot of printing, your overall cost will be much cheaper. You can reduce your printer budget significantly by purchasing high quality discount toner cartridges. These cartridges are also guaranteed to be as good or better than your original cartridge, but are significantly cheaper.
