How the Cheapest Inkjet Printer Cartridges
Can Be the Best Value?
Printer owners often think the cheapest inkjet cartridges means poor quality print. That is definitely false.
The cheapest printer cartridges can mean the highest quality inkjet cartridges, if you know what to look for. I
know. I owned my own small business for over twenty years. I spent thousands of dollars each year printing my own
marketing materials and software manuals.
When I finally realized how much I was spending on my office printing budget, I decided to
test out one of those cheap printer cartridges. I just knew that I wouldn't get the same quality print. I was
wrong. I also assumed a cheap ink cartridge wouldn't be able to print as many pages... wrong again. In fact, I
learned so many lessons, I thought I'd share four of them with you.
I was able to print more pages with that "cheap printer cartridge". I couldn't figure out how that was possible,
so I did a little research. I guess I was lucky, but I happened to have bought my printer cartridges from a
reputable online company. Here's the four lessons I learned that significantly reduced my printer budget.
1. Some of the Cheapest Printer Cartridges are Remanufactured Printer
Cartridges
I found out that a remanufactured ink cartridge was an
original OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) print cartridge that had been emptied and returned to the printer
manufacturer. The company then refilled the empty cartridge with ink designed for the specific printer. Next, they
cleaned the cartridge and submitted it to multiple quality control tests. Then, when the cartridge passed this
rigorous inspection, it is resold to the public.
Here's what I didn't quite understand. When a printer company tells you how many pages a printer cartridge will
print, they are usually very accurate on their estimation. However, what they don't tell you is this. The inkjet
cartridge may or may not be filled to capacity. I learned that the original printer cartridge I was using wasn't
filled to maximum capacity. So, when I got one that was completely filled, guess what? I was able to print more
pages per cartridge. My cost per page for printing significantly dropped.
I also learned something else. Many of the major printer manufacturers sell remanufactured printer cartridges. I
had a hard time believing that, because I was still paying full retail price. However, when I looked at the label
on the printer box, it said "manufactured from new and recycled parts". It really was a remanufactured inkjet
printer cartridge.
I then accidentally learned a second important lesson about cheap inkjet cartridges. I had bought my printer
cartridges from a reliable online company. It was a third party company. It did not have the brand name of the
printer company on the label. Surprise... I paid less than 50% of what I had been paying for printer cartridges. I
was very happy the prices were so low, but I still had a few more things to learn.
2. Compatible Inkjet Cartridges Are Some of the Cheapest Ink
Cartridges
After my experience with manufactured printer cartridges, I again discovered something new. There are printer
cartridges which are called compatible printer cartridges. I
decided I'd try one. After all, I had learned a lot in my first experience. So I ordered a compatible print
cartridge.
Here's what I learned about compatible cartridges. First, they are brand new print cartridges. They are made
from all new parts. They are made to the same quality standards and specifications of your original printer
cartridge. They are guaranteed to give you the same quality print and page yield as your original cartridge.
Sometimes a compatible inkjet cartridge is called generic ink cartridge. I found that I could save as much as
70% on my printer cartridges by using compatible cartridges. I got exceptional print quality and quantity of
print.
I was concerned that these remanufactured and compatible printer cartridges might void my printer warranty.
However, I learned that in 1971 the United States passed a law called the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Improvement Act.
It protects the printer owner rights. It states that your warranty cannot be voided by using a compatible product
unless the manufacturer can prove that product caused direct damage to your printer. Since that time, most of the
countries around the world have passed similar acts to protect the consumer.
3. Always Buy the Cheap Printer Ink Products from a Reputable Online
Company
The largest selection of ink cartridges for inkjet printers, quality printing supplies and printing accessories
are online. I found that leading online companies offer the best pricing, product warranties and money back
guarantees in the industry. So, when it's time for an ink refill, test out a good online printer company that has
cartridges for inkjet printers.
If you go to their website, all you have to do is select your printer. Then, you will normally see a list of
models for your printer. All you do is select your specific printer model and a list of printer cartridges for your
printer will be displayed. You'll often see the company offers brand new cartridges, as well as, remanufactured and
compatible inkjet cartridges for your printer. Do a little homework and see what replacement printer ink cartridge is the best for you. One thing will be consistent. Every option will give
you a discount price over what you'd pay in a retail store... even for brand name OEM printer cartridges.
Warning... How to Insure Your Cheap Printer Ink Cartridges are Quality Inkjet
Cartridges
Although the printer industry has made a lot of progress in the last few years, be careful. You don't want to
have a bad experience with your inkjet refill. There are still some companies that sell cheap ink cartridges that
are poor quality and inferior printer cartridges. If you decide to purchase a compatible ink cartridge, make sure
that printer cartridge was manufactured in an ISO-9001 certified factory. This certification guarantees
that the compatible inkjet printer cartridges meet the highest quality of manufacturing and performance.
4. Buy the Cheapest Inkjet Printer Cartridges as Huge Discounts
When it's time for a replacement inkjet cartridge, take a couple of minutes. It doesn't matter if you need a
black ink or color inkjet cartridge. Check out at least two reputable online companies. Look up your specific
cartridge. Compare prices. Check out each company policy for returns, exchanges, refunds and shipping cost. Make
sure you get at least a one year warranty and a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee. You should expect the best
customer service and shipping options. Most suppliers will ship their orders the same day or within a maximum of 24
hours. In many cases, you'll get free shipping.
Then, after you've made your best decision, purchase the cheapest and best inkjet cartridge and give it a test.
You'll be glad you did. You will save money on a cheap inkjet refill. You'll also learn that the cheapest
inkjet printer cartridges can be the best value.
